What does GAME stand for?

If you are interested in pursuing a career with one of our MSAT brands, then you've got to have GAME!
GAME is an acronym for:
  • Grades or GPA (3.5 or better is preferred)
  • Attendance (al least 97%)
  • Motor Vehicle Record (no more than two garden variety infractions)
  • Exam (pass an ASE style exam with a minimum 70%)
In 2006 our average student carried a 3.82 GPA and 99% Attendance. Students must show a reasonably clean MVR for the past 3 years with no infractions relating to drugs, alcohol, careless or reckless driving. The exam covers the standard 8 ASE areas. In addition to GAME candidates can enhance their applications with:
  • Work Experience: By that we mean turning a wrench for pay. Working at a dealership is great but you can also gain experience with chain stores like Sears, Firestone and Goodyear or with independent shops. Military experience in the motor pool is also a plus.
  • ASE Certifications: Your campus resource center should have information about the next ASE Exams in your area. In addition you can take practice exams at a discount through the Alumni Association, www.utialumni.com
  • Any awards you earned at your technical institute or college, Awards at the high school level such as VICA/Skills USA, the Ford/AAA Troubleshooting Competition, your state Dealership Association competition or the GNYADA National Technician Competition.
  • Letters of recommendation
For more information on MSAT's see your Advanced Training Representative in the Employment Services Department on campus.
